Past K-T GovernorsHold Reunion in Central Kentucky

Central Kentucky was a great place to gather for pastK-T governors in early April.

On Friday, April 16, the governors had a dinner atArlington Country Club in Richmond, KY Here Dr. Ken Clawson,a K-T Governor 2000-2001, introduces Eastern Kentucky UniversityPresident Joanne Glasser, who welcomed the governors toEKU.

On Saturday, April 17, the governors, and some additionalKiwanians from the immediate area, visited the Keenland Race Coursein Lexington, KY. Shown here, (l. to r. are) A.E. The Kiwanians were appropriately seated near the Kiwanis section.

Herman M. Bowers
, KT Governor 1995-96, and wife ShirleyBowers, enjoyed visiting with the other former governors andseeing the sights of Keenland.

John W. Gorrell, KT Governor 1989-90, shareshis knowledge of horses with Ed Callis, KT Governor 1992-93and Ed's wife Brenda Callis.

Some of the others in attendance were Roger andCarolyn Blair. Carolyn is the Administrative Secretary ofthe K-T District.

Betty and David Olinger study the race whenthey joined the group at Keenland. Betty is the president of theKiwanis club of Berea, KY and David is the chairperson of theK-T District Young Children: Priority One Committee. Betty brokeinto a smile when her daughter Josylyn Olinger joined themat the races. Josyln, a law school graduate from the Universityof Louisville, is serving as a legal clerk for Kentucky ChiefJustice Joseph E. Lambert

Why is Ken Clawson the only person smiling inthis photo finish? John W. Gorrell, and wife Jenny Gorrellwere clearly not happy with this finish.

Keenland provided an excellent opportunity for Dr.Glen Kleine, K-T webmaster and Lt. Governor of Division 9to take photos of the event.
